Help Haiti Earthquake Victims
Scholarship Program for Immigrant Families
The Western Union Foundation's Family Scholarship Program is intended for migrants, immigrants, and their families in the US. The scholarship may be used for tuition for college/university education, language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. Recipients are eligible to receive scholarships in amounts of $1,000 to $5,000 per family.

Applications due February 5, 2010.

Before making any charitable contribution, please take the time to research the organization. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is reminding Internet users that past tragedies and natural disasters have prompted individuals with criminal intent to solicit contributions purportedly for a charitable organization and/or a good cause. Before making a donation of any kind, consumers should adhere to certain guidelines.

Contribute online to the Red Cross, or donate $10 to be charged to your cell phone bill by texting "HAITI" to "90999."

Donate through United Way of Allegheny County to help Hôpital Albert Schweitzer treat earthquake victims.

Find more ways to help through the Center for International Disaster Information, or through USAID's interactive website, which has a list of NGOs and instructions on how to help.
